I wrote about Henry Daniel, the colour wizard from the Regency period, in a previous post. Here is another stunning teacup. The shape is called “Second Gadroon” and it has amazing colours and incredibly finely painted landscapes – all painted from the free hand. And take a look at the cobalt blue panels – they seem to have the night sky with shooting and twinkling stars, a wonderful contrast with the vivid autumnal landscapes. And I haven’t even started to describe the wonderful cup handle, which is of the utmost elegance… I never stop marvelling at these Daniel cups. You can find the listing here in my Antiques shop.
